Obituary for Joan Renzella
Joan Renzella, 85 of Long Branch, after a prolonged struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018 with family by her side. Joan is predeceased by her parents Vernona Condone and Dominick Condone, her husband Richard Renzella and her son Michael Garifine. Joan is survived by her three children: Joanne Welsh and her husband Timothy, Deborah Welsh and her husband Matthew, and son Gerard Garifine. Joan was blessed with four granddaughters: Elizabeth (Troy Lundberg), Katie Rose, Kelly (John Davellis), and Tara. She is also survived by her sister Charlene Tusa, and stepdaughter Susan Renzella.
Joan was a fun loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother, creating many cherished memories. She will always be remembered for her close knit circle of lifelong friends and cousins who spent time with her until her death. Joan and Richie enjoyed 42 years of marriage, traveling and appreciating their time with adored family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, from 1-4 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral Monday, 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s NJ, 425 Eagle Rock Ave, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068. The family invites you to leave a letter of condolence, make a memorial donation or light a memorial candle by selecting the appropriate tab.
