Walter F. Kwasniak
Walter Francis Kwasniak, 74 of Long Branch, passed away peacefully at his home in Long Branch on March 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Family and good friends knew him best as “Walt”.

Walter was born in December of 1943 in South Boston. He was the son of the late June and Bob Blair. Walter was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. He worked for the Department of Public Works for over 40 years, as a heavy equipment operator, and was a member of the Elks, VFW and the IAMA in Long Branch. His time volunteering as a Little League Coach to hundreds of kids in Long Branch, touched his heart the most. Walter will be best remembered for his sense of humor, his heart of gold, and for being someone who everyone could depend on.

Walter was predeceased by his wife, Janet Kwasniak, as well as her daughter, Mary Frances. He will be greatly missed by his surviving family: brother Joseph Fijol and his wife, Betty (Virginia); sister-in-law, Jean Shapiro, (Florida); his children, Walter F Kwasniak Jr. (Florida); Cathy Brock and her husband, Tim; Robert Kwasniak (New Jersey); Melissa Kwasniak (Virginia); his niece, Ingrid Huxley (New Jersey); and his grandchildren, Alicia, Christine, Walter III, John-John, Eddie, Brandon, Bradley, Robert (whom he raised as a son); and 12 great grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved, lifelong friend, Darlene Davido.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral, Friday; 10:00 am from the funeral home with a funeral service to begin at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch.
