Thomas  Marks, Sr.
Thomas Marks, Sr., age 90 of Long Branch, passed away in his home on Sunday, March 4, 2018. He was born in Long Branch and was a resident of Long Branch for the past 90 years. He graduated from Long Branch High School in 1946. He was employed at the Long Branch Post Office as assistant Post Master and retired in 1986.

Thomas, better known as Chopper, loved his big family. He was married to his loving wife Marie for 63 years. Thomas and Marie raised their 4 children in a compassionate home and were later blessed with 5 devoted grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Thomas is predeceased by his parents, Susanna and Dominick Marks, his brother Michael, and his son Thomas J. Marks, Jr. He is survived by his wife Marie; his daughter MaryJo Salamone and husband Philip, Freehold; his 2 sons Dominick Marks, Neptune, and Jim Marks, Bonita Springs, Fla.; as well as his 5 beloved grandchildren: Tina, Tommy, Rosie, Brooke, and Brad, and 2 great-grandchildren, Alissa and John.

Thomas was loved by all who knew him. He took pride in his family as well fishing, hunting, gardening and crabbing. He was an expert in everything and anything, and was willing to do anything for the people he loved. He will forever be cherished and missed.

Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of the arrangements. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Riverview Medical Center Foundation, 1340 Campus Parkway, Bldg. C, Unit 4, Neptune, NJ 07753, Attn: Breast Health Center.
