Obituary for Pauline Foderaro

Pauline  Foderaro
Pauline Foderaro, age 88 of Oakhurst, NJ died on April 2 2018 at her son’s home in Sandpoint, Idaho, where she was convalescing. She was born in Vallefiorita, Italy to the late Frank and Marie Procopio.

She came to the United States in 1955 and met and married on October 18, 1958 her lifelong soulmate of almost 60 years, Damiano Foderaro and started a family. She became a Naturalized US Citizen on March 7, 1960. She worked as a seamstress for the International Ladies’ Garment Workers for over 20 years and later at the Eatontown Memorial Middle School. In 1981, she passed the Barber’s exam and joined her husband at Dom’s Hairstylist in Ocean, NJ until 2015. She was also one of the original founders of the Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean.

She will be remembered most for her openhearted and welcoming personality. She always made you laugh and feel at home. She was always ready to host a large family get together, tailgate or an impromptu visitor or two. She was devoted to her family and children. She became a familiar face around town whether it was providing rides to the neighborhood kids, cheering for her sons at their sporting events or just lending a helping hand. She was always there whenever you needed her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Maria Procopio, her sister Rose Bruno and survived by her sister, Angelina Acquaviva; her brothers Dominick, Joseph, Rocky and Leonard Procopio; her husband Damiano Foderaro; her sons, Rocco and his wife Ann Marie Foderaro; Frank and his wife Holly Foderaro; and 9 grandchildren, Amanda Foderaro, Nicole Foderaro, Joseph Foderaro, Michael Foderaro, Sarah Brookshire, Sonia Foderaro, Joshua Foderaro, Serena Foderaro and Frank Foderaro Jr and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 8 from 3-7 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral Monday, 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at St. Jerome Church in West Long Branch. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport.
