Elmer Robert  Potter
Elmer Robert Potter, 91 years old of Oakhurst, passed away on April 23, 2018. He was born in Beacon, New York. Elmer served our Country honorably during WWII in the US Army Air Force Transport Command as an airplane mechanic and was a Registered Municipal Accountant for the State of New Jersey.

Elmer was an active Master Mason for 67 years and was a past Grand Master of the Navesink Lodge No. 9 serving this year as the Historian. He presented the Award of Merit from the Grand Lodge of New Jersey Free & Accepted Masons to Eagle Scouts that had earned the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Gimbel-Lehy-Quirk Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2226 in Oakhurst.

He was predeceased by his parents, Claude Robert Potter and Eda Steel Potter and his stepmother, Ellen Arnold Potter. Surviving are his brother, Wallace Potter and sister in law, Leona Potter; his niece Debbie Marcinkiewicz, her husband Darren and their children Karlee and Christopher; his niece Karen Foderaro, her husband Steve and their children Stevie, Devin and Alana and his special friend Lenore Stinnett.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. in Long Branch. Funeral, Saturday; 9:00 am from the funeral home with a funeral service to begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Navesink Masonic Lodge No. 9, 152 Maple Ave., Red Bank, NJ 07701; Boy Scouts of America, 705 Ginesi Dr., Morganville, NJ 07751 or to the VFW Post #2226, 212 Norwood Ave., Oakhurst, NJ 07755. During the time Elmer R. Potter served in US ARMY Air Transport Control and was assigned and traveled through the USA, France, Morocco, Africa and Brazil
