Obituary for John A. Anastasia
John A. Anastasia, age 40 of Oakhurst, died Monday, April 30, 2018. Born in Long Branch, he had lived in Long Branch before moving to Oakhurst 7 years ago. John was a firefighter for the City of Asbury Park, an exempt member of the Deal Fire Department where he served as Chief in 2015 and the Superintendent of Beaches for Deal. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church of Christ the King Parish in Long Branch.
John was predeceased by his mother Evelyn Anastasia in 2016. Surviving are his wife Elena Anastasia; his daughter Isabella; his father Frank Anastasia; two brothers Frank Anastasia, Jr. and William Anastasia and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4 from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. For the continuing care of Isabella, it is requested that memorial donations be made to Isabella Anastasia, P.O. Box 567, Long Branch, NJ 07740. The family invites you to leave a letter of condolence, light a memorial candle or make a memorial donation by selecting the appropriate tab.
