Obituary for Matthew Joseph Occhipinti

Matthew Joseph Occhipinti, 26 of Highlands, died on May 19, 2018. Matt was born in Long Branch and graduated from Henry Hudson High School in Highlands. He was a deckhand on the Sea Hunter in Atlantic Highlands and enjoyed baseball, fishing and hunting.

Matt was predeceased by his great grandparents, Joseph and Mary Occhipinti and Santo and Pauline La Bruto. Surviving are his parents, Maria Occhipinti and Richard MacArthur; his grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Occhipinti; aunts and uncles, Paula and James Horniacek; Joseph and Christine Occhipinti and Kevin MacArthur; his cousins, Mary Horniacek, James, Horniacek, Joseph Occhipinti, Nicholas Occhipinti, Anthony Occhipinti, Thomas MacArthur, Marissa Byrne and Donald Byrne; his dogs, Rosy and Roxanne and his childhood friend Kyle Constanza.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 23 from 6 pm until the time of the service at 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. The family invites you to write a letter of condolence, light a candle or share a story by selecting the appropriated tab.
