Obituary for Mary M. Smith
Mary M. Smith, age 76 of West Long Branch, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a Registered Nurse at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for 34 years retiring in 2005. Born in Union City, she lived in Ocean Township for 40 years before moving to West Long Branch in 2010.
She was predeceased by her brother, George Fertig. Surviving are her husband, Edward D. Smith; a daughter and son in law, Susan and Chris Carrigan of Neptune; her sister, Grayce Schmidt of New Hampshire; her sister in law, Sis Fertig of West Milford; a grandson, Nicholas Smith, and many caring nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on June 30, 2018 at 2 pm at the Elks Lodge, 3409 West Bangs Avenue in Neptune. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Mercy Center, 1106 Main Street, Asbury Park, NJ 07712. The family invites you to leave a letter of condolence, light a memorial candle or make a memorial donation by selecting the appropriate tab.
