The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Deacon Edward R. Herr can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Ron Noble
Condolence: Ed gave one of the finest homilies I have ever heard, about a soldier who refused to commit an atrocity and paid a very high price for that decision. Many years later, Ed's writing is still remembered. He was a fine man, and I'm glad to have heard him speak.

Condolence: Ed was a fine person ,and a great friend . He would often smile and was always a pleasure to be with . He was a professional in all of his activities ,church, business ,social etc.I recall him performing the memorial service of a mutual friend (M Caputo ) in such a caring manner . Ed was an important pillar of the Fort Monmouth community . I will miss him significantly and I pray that his family finds solace in knowing what a great person and contributer Ed was to his community , friends and family . May Ed rest in peace . Danny

Condolence: Camille & Laura, My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to reach out and reconnect with Ed even though it wasn't nearly soon enough.
Cherish good memories; they bring comfort. Rest often. Take time to grieve; it's a lot of work to recover from a loss.
