Condolences

Condolence From: Harry Gramann
Condolence: Frank was born five months after me. Our parents were close friends and we spent a lot of time together. As an only child he was the brother I never had and the best friend you could ever ask for. On our way to Phillips Ave. beach, in the summer, we would often stop to visit his grandparents who were the caretakers at the Colt estate on Ocean Ave. Pop Tomaino would give us a tour of the green house and Momma Tomaino would make us eat some pasta she was preparing for lunch.

We both dated girls from Jersey City during high school summers until Frank and Marilyn become a couple. We double dated to our Senior Prom. I then left for college in Iowa but we spent time together during the summer. One summer my college job was in the City and I lived in his Pratt college apartment in Brooklyn. On the day I graduated from college Frank and my father were there after driving over a thousand miles to congratulate me and then, after a round of golf, drove back to Deal, NJ.
Frank was my Best Man in my first marriage. He was always there for me. I moved back to Iowa and then Albuquerque and then Nashville, but when I returned home he always insisted I stay with him.
Who could want a better friend...I will miss him.

Condolence From: Rich & Louise Franco
Condolence: There are only beautiful memories of Frank. He brought love and happiness wherever he went. We know Frank through Anna May Nies, my sister. She brought Frank to our home in Vermont many many years ago. It was memorable in many ways: such wonderful meals together, talking for hours, laughing our way through an evening. A joyous and generous person which he shared with anyone who came into contact with him. We have missed being able to see him often enough through the years. Whenever our parents were visiting, Frank always made sure to come over to say hello and spend time with them. We feel honored that Frank became a part of our lives. We loved him and are tremendously saddened. With love and condolences, Rich and Louise Franco

Condolence: Frank: Always the ultimate gentleman, never w/o a smile. A love of people, good food & wine. We shared a common bond of jazz. You will be missed but not forgotten by all those you touched. Ciao.

Condolence: Frank will be sorely missed in our neighborhood. He was a kind and friendly man who we always enjoyed seeing and talking to. Someone who took pride in his home and made our little neighborhood a better place to be. Grateful we have Patti and Louie and Bones . They will bring smiles to our faces when we see them , helping us remember our friend.

Condolence From: Jeffrey and Denise Dobken
Condolence: "To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has been better because you lived. This is to have succeeded. " Emerson
God bless you, Frank Tomaino. We love you. Denise And Jeff Dobken
