Sandra L. Pier, 81 of Manahawkin, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey in Lakewood. Born in Point Pleasant, she had lived in Ocean Grove before moving to Manahawkin. Sande graduated from Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia and worked as a graphic artist in various places throughout Monmouth County before going work at Apple Graphics in Bradley Beach. As a teenager, Sande entered a contest to design a flag for the Ocean County Library in Brick, which she won and is still flying today.

Sande was predeceased by her mother, Mildred Pier and her father, Raymond Pier. Surviving are many special friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 19 from 7 pm until the time of the service at 7:30 am at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue, Long Branch. Interment will be on Thursday, September 20 at 12 Noon at Hamilton Cemetery in Neptune. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724.
