Vito A. Nettis, Sr., 92 of West Long Branch died on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Monmouth Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, he had lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch in 1961. Vito was an Insurance Sales Manager for Chubb Life in Wanamassa before retiring. He was a member of the West Long Branch Lions Club; a parishioner of St. Michael’s R.C. Church in West End and served his country honorable in the US Navy during WWII.
Vito is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joy Nettis; his son, Vito A. Nettis, Jr.; his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Nancy Nettis; his sister, Palmina Ferster and 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Eric and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25 from 9 - 11 am at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave in Long Branch followed by a 11:30 am Mass at St. Michael’s Church. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105. The family invites you to write a letter of condolence, share a story or make a donation by selecting the appropriate tab.
