Heike Wasmann Frick
Our mom doesn’t fit into a cookie cutter or a mold, our mom is outrageous and spectacular and amazing. Even if you only met her for a minute, she made an impression on everyone she encountered. She was sweet and kind, unless you messed with her kids, then mama bear came out. She was fierce and strong, unlike any other woman or person you could meet. At the end of the day our mom is beyond words. How do you begin to sum up the woman that we call Mom? Write from the heart.
She loved music, especially punk rock. She raised us with an incredible soundtrack of music, always playing (usually at maximum volume) in the background. She taught us that music could help you heal, because if someone wrote a song about it, someone must’ve felt that way. She loved to go to concerts and dance her heart out and scream the lyrics until she had no voice left.
Our mom wasn’t just the best mom in the whole universe to us, she was our best friend, our sister and so much more. She was wild and crazy and the most understanding loving person you could imagine. She stood up for us all, she fought hard but she loved harder. We are so thankful for every moment, every memory and we have that thanks to our mom. From concerts to camping to caves and mines, from gardens to beaches and everything in between. We are her pride and joy and share an unconditional love like no other with our Dew Mama. We will never, ever forget her or her love and strength.
She is survived by her warrior children Cody and Sarah, her father Hans Werner, her mother Heidi Marie, 3 loving sisters Dorthea, Christiane and Alexandra. The Amorino Family, the little blonde girl by the sea, Amy, and many many friends. She is predeceased by our beloved Hut tut. There are so many family members we have adopted and acquired and wouldn’t let go of over the years, we can’t possibly list everyone but know that each and everyone of you, and you know exactly who you are, meant the world to our mom and will always mean the world to us.
We will be having a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Saturday, September 29th from 6-8pm at Damiano Funeral Home, located at 191 Franklin Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740 and we would love if you could join us in sharing memories and pictures of the most incredible woman any of us could hope to meet. If you cannot make it please know we will be planning something at Sandy Hook in the future to celebrate our mom and give us all a chance to share more memories and love.
“Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ‘Holy Shit... What a ride!’” Hunter S. Thompson but repeated often by our mom.
Driving 80 down the highway, macaw on her shoulder, wind in her orange hair, filing her nails, blasting music as loud as it can go. That’s how she would want to be remembered.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Monmouth County SPCA and River*
