Arthur “Buddy” Crochet, age 84 of Oceanport, died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at home. Born in Long Branch he was a life resident of Oceanport. Buddy served our country honorably in the US Navy. He was a systems analyst at Fort Monmouth for 35 years retiring in 1989. After retirement he enjoyed driving a school bus for the West Long Branch Board of Education for 25 years retiring in 2015. Buddy was also a coach for both Oceanport Pop Warner Football and Babe Ruth. He was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Jerome Church of the Parish of Our Lady of Hope.

He is predeceased by his son Joseph in 2010. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sally Crochet; his sons, Tom Crochet and Richard Crochet; three daughters in law, Gina, Jodie and Darlene; his sister, Adrienne Redell and 9 grandchildren, Joey, Rebekah, Bailey, Nicholas, Tanner, Matthew, Trevor, Kyle and Nicollette.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4 - 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral, Friday; 10 am here with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. Jerome Church in West Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jerome Church, 254 Wall Street, West Long Branch, NJ 07764.
