Julianna Gregoria, age 91 of Oceanport, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at home. Julianna was born in Szeged, Hungary in 1927. Her journey began at age 15 when she left her family and with nothing more than the clothes on her back and a loaf of bread. She ventured through Hungary, Austria and eventually Germany during WWII where she worked for the U.S. Army and eventually me her future husband Joseph Gregoria. Julianna led a very independent life through the years and had three beautiful children. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed helping anyone that was in need. In the early 70’s, “Mr. and Mrs. G” ran the Fort Monmouth Teen Club where teens from the area could come and enjoy activities such as live bands, birthday parties for members and holiday gatherings. She was member of the Oceanport Seniors and enjoyed baking, sewing, crafts, gardening and working on her home.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 2005 and a son in law, Robert A. Reynolds in 2016. Surviving are her son Dezsö “Butch” Gregoria and his fiancée Theresa Cuomo; two daughters, Krisztinna “Kris” Reynolds; “Kuki” Livingston and her husband Robert; her niece Szilvia Pandi Szegedi and nephew, Deli Laszlo who both live in Hungary; her grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Anna Livingston, Denny and Jeanne Garbacki, and a great grandson, Niko Garbacki.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28 from 2 - 6 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., in Long Branch. Funeral, Monday; 9:30 am at the funeral home with the Service to begin at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Ave., Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068 or to Family and Children’s Services, 191 Bath Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740 (check memo-JACC).
