Obituary for Susan Yacubovich
Susan Lynn Sutton Yacubovich, age 56 of West Long Branch, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2018, with family by her side. Susan attended Long Branch High School and went on to graduate Monmouth University with a Master of Arts in Education. An active participant in the community, Susan worked as an elementary school teacher, taught CCD, and served as a certified therapy dog handler with Major, the family Golden Retriever.
Susan is survived by her parents, Tom and Catherine Sutton; her husband of 35 years, Robert; her three children, Paul, Stefanie, and Melissa, and her brother, Timmy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24 from 4 - 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral Thursday; 9:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Jerome Church, West Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. The family invites you to write a letter of condolence, share a story or make a donation by selecting the appropriate tab.
