Obituary for Garry William Grimsley
Garry William Grimsley, 67 of Middletown, died peacefully on July 14, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Newark, he was the Director of Vocational Education Services for Union County Educational Commission for 27 years retiring in 2011. Garry was a member of Club Newark and Club Cutler. He loved his rose garden, Frank Sinatra, oldies music and especially his neighbors.
He was predeceased by his father, William Grimsley. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Linda Puzzo Grimsley; a son, Nicholas Grimsley; his daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Jon Frangipani; his mother, Nancy Grimsley; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Kelly Grimsley; his sister and brother-in-law, Marcella and Doug Betterley and his granddaughter, Nina.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. in Long Branch. Funeral Wednesday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cancer Institute of New Jersey Foundation (CINJ), 303 George St., Suite 301, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
