Salvatore J. Vinci, age 92 of Long Branch, died September 8, 2018 at Monmouth Medical Center. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident. Sam had worked at Bendix Corp in Eatontown for over 40 years before retiring. He was a parishioner of Star of the Sea Church of Christ the King Parish in Long Branch and served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII. He loved his family, cats, the ocean and enjoyed going on cruises.

Sam was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Irene in 2017, his son, Joseph in 2008; his brothers, Salvatore, Joseph and Alfred and his sister, Antoinette Salmon. Surviving are his 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Mary and Perry Vallone of Eatontown, Margaret and Ralph Primavera of West Long Branch, Paula Vinci of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Judy Vinci of Eatontown; his brother, Alphonse Vinci of Tinton Falls; 3 sisters, Nancy Melone of Ocean, Amelia Ullery and her husband Donald of Wayside and Ann Lindsay of West Long Branch; 12 grandchildren, Jenna, Jessie, Samantha, Matthew, Nicholas, Ralph, Benjamin, Rachel, Christopher, Michael, Melissa and Anthony; one great grandson, Kaden and also many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12 from 5-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. in Long Branch. Funeral Thursday; 9:30 am at the funeral home with a 10:30 am Mass at Star of the Sea Church. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
