Many years ago, when my son, John was small, Mary and I rented a house on Long Beach Island. We used to go crabbing. Once when we ran out of bait, we used one of her mother's( Ma,Ma's) meatballs, that she had sent down with us. We caught the biggest crab ever! Mary and I always used to laugh about that!
Another time when we were out crabbing out in the bay, a man we did not know, let us use his boat. When we were done, we thought that we had secured it. That night there was a storm and the next morning we went to check on the boat. Well, it was gone!
We were on the dock once looking at the crabs that we had caught that were in the bucket. Along came this man who sounded like he was from New York. He looked at the crabs and he said "those don't look like the kind you get in a resturant". I guess he thought we were going to catch an Alaskan King Crabs in Barnegat Bay! We laughed alot about that over the years.
We both loved I Love Lucy. When an episode would come on that we both liked, she would call me up to tell me it was on. One of the ones we liked best was when Lucy set her nose on fire. Another one was when she got into a fight stomping grapes in Italy! We always laughed. I will always remember Mary while watching I Love Lucy re-runs!!
Memories to cherish!!!!!! And laughs we shared!!!
